Introduction to Tableau / Tableau JumpStart is a two-day, fast paced hands-on Tableau course geared for attendees new to using the tool, or for those who want a refresher of the basics or newer features. This two-day course will provide students with knowledge of core features, benefits and uses of Tableau, and how to maximize use of the toolset. Ideal attendees would be beginner Tableau users who want to quickly get up to speed with intermediate level Tableau features and functions. Students will leave this course armed with the required skills to leverage the important concepts and techniques in Tableau to move from simple to complex visualizations.
Beginning with the fundamentals, such as data preparation, you’ll soon learn how to build and customize your own data visualizations and dashboards, essential for high-level visibility and effective data storytelling. You’ll also find out how to so trend analysis and forecasting using clustering and distribution models to inform your analytics. When it comes to data it’s all about availability and access. That’s why we’ll show you how to share your Tableau visualizations. This course is about 50% hands-on lab and 50% lecture, with multiple practical exercises designed to reinforce core skills and concepts taught throughout the course. Students will be led through a series of progressively advanced topics, where each topic consists of lecture, group discussion, hands-on lab exercises, and lab review. This course is “skills-centric”, designed to train attendees in essential Tableau data handling functions and reporting skills, coupling the most current, effective techniques with the soundest practices.
Individuals working with data-regardless of technical or analytical background are a fit for this course. Attendees should have familiarity with using Microsoft Excel.
