This course relates to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and provides core “survival” skills for IT professionals looking to become full-time Linux system administrators. You will master the skills to perform essential Linux administration tasks, including installation, establishing network connectivity, managing physical storage, and basic security administration.

Basic administration and configuration functions are covered, laying the foundation for rapid deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

This course will enable you to:

  • Monitor and manage Linux processes
  • Control services and daemons
  • Control access to files with Linux file-system permissions

These concepts are further developed in the follow-on course, Red Hat System Administration II (RH134). Both courses are needed in your preparation for the Red Hat Certified System Administrator Exam (EX200).
